Been working on a few things.....
A quilt for my granddaughter and fabric usage!
I am doing these as a Leader/Ender project as per Quiltville's Bonnie Hunter and actually have 24 made, all different, but not set and have not bought a thing for them....all from scraps except for the black. I was watching the Granny Square progress on many sites and liked them but they just did not sing to me. It finally struck me that I did not remember them as others were making them, with a white background. It needed black. All the ones in my family were done with black. Ta-Da, now I could do some!
and finally...a little quilt kit that I picked up at my guild. Can't remember the woman's name but she had put these little quilts, all precut into a small sack with the pattern. This one is called Hotdish. It's about 14" square. I call mine Minnesota Hotdish, 'cause ya sure, ya betcha, that's what we call them here!
Very cold here today, about 3 F and not supposed to get much warmer! Lucy did her business very quickly this morning and gave me the "look" when she came in. Now we have to snuggle.....
The plan is to sew today with QuiltCam and tomorrow (no work)! Putting a chicken in the crockpot so the house will smell great and I don't have to be putzing with cooking!
As Always,
Deb
Love your granddaughter's quilt. Might have to make one with that pattern.
ReplyDeleteSara,
DeleteThanks!
I know it is from a magazine but for the life of me I cannot put my hands on it at the moment. Go figure! Maybe I better go clean up the sewing room! lol
You have wonderful plans for our MN weather. Brrrr!! Love the quilt for your Granddaughter. They are so much fun to sew for.

Thanks Beth, was just on your blog and left a comment. Chicken in the crockpot and heading to the sewing room again!
DeleteReally love your Minnesota Hotdish quilt Deb! It'll be beef stew in my crockpot and borders for Easy Street at our MN house during this cold snap.

Hi Jean,
DeleteI don't care what is in the crockpot as long as I don't have to be fussing with food, how about you? lol It will be a while before borders for mine....I found a couple of turned four patches that need to be fixed!
Lucy is a sweetie, so are grandgirls - she is going to love her quilt.
ReplyDeleteLucy is a sweetie, thanks! Granddaughters are so much more fun than daughters! I leave the hard stuff up to Mom and Dad!!!!
