PROGRESS! I am a big fan of Bonnie Hunter over at Quiltville and have followed her yearly mystery. I started "Easy Street" and kept up with all the parts....yeah me....and started to assemble it in January. Got 3 rows together and put it up on the design wall. Started looking at it and I had done exactly what Bonnie had warned us about, I had turned 4-patches.

AAARRRRGH!

I packed it away until now. I had decided I had better GIT R DONE before this years started. Spent about 8 hours un-sewing it and another couple putting it back together.  Now the top/ backing are at the LA and the binding is cut, awaiting it's return. It measures 100x100 and will be quilted with some simple swirls, I don't think the quilting will show much.
I have named it the "Big Easy" as it reminds me of New Orleans. The fabric was a line from Connecting Threads called Tulane and a few extras from stash.
Now I can hardly wait for November to see what Bonnie has in store. I already have some fabrics picked out.

Finished my BOM for Just Us Quilters, actually 7 blocks, 1 of the one on the left and 6 of the one on the right. These colors just make me happy, to say nothing of the polka dots!
I am not usually a sampler sort of gal but this one has been fun to do and Linda of The Quilted Goose has been leading us and doing an awesome job!

Last Sunday we went to a little town 10 miles from us for lunch because we had heard so much about their Bloody Mary's. It did not disappoint. There was a meal in that glass! Next time I will know not to order a burger with it.

And this was the Tequila Sunrise ....
As Always,

Deb

  4. That Tequila Sunrise looks altogether too refreshing. Think I will have to join you and have one. Your "Big Easy" turned out great. Too bad about all the unsewing. I am also looking forward to Bonnie's mystery.

I had to take a nap when I got home, good thing the quilt top was done, I could not have done anything on it that day!
