Stash Report

Used this Week: 0 yards
Used year to Date: 4 yards
Added this Week: 0 yards
Added Year to Date: 3 yards

So we are are at -1....can I keep it going this way?
I am trying to get back on track with this accountability and am already several weeks behind.
And this is just where you saw it last. Some block testing and projects other than quilting has occupied my time. Winter Retreat will be this Thursday thru Sunday and hopefully, lots more to report next time.

We did present the quilts for the family for the Habitat for Humanity house. Mary, our President and two others, holding the parent's quilt.
This is based on a quilt by Becky Wright, The Civil War Quilter, called Jacob's Cot Quilt. She did a Trunk Show and Workshop for us in 2012. We all loved the block and just about everyone in the guild contributed a block. The sashing was from my stash and another member quilted it.
One for the oldest daughter.
One for the middle son.
..and for the youngest son.

I have been working on The Farmer's Wife Pony Club Swap with a Facebook Group. These are the hardest blocks I have ever done. I did an original Farmer's Wife Quilt and loved it. These blocks finish at 8 inches and there are less of them, so I thought they would be easier....not. Here is January's minus mine because I used up all the fabric I had with redoing them that I will be using something similar but not the same. In my group, we make 7, send 6 and we receive 6 each month. These were paper pieced.
And finally, doing Pat Sloan's Vacation Time Mystery BOM Quilt . Wasn't gonna, didn't have time, did not need another sampler type quilt.....but when I saw the block, just no resolve in me and it will all come from stash!
The background is actually a dark plum. Who can resist a star, not me!

Check out what everyone else is accomplishing at Patchwork Times.

As Always,

Deb

  1. What great quilts for Habitat for Humanity! Looks like you have some ambitious projects on the agenda. Fabric usage is headed in the right direction.

    1. Hi Beth! Let's hope it keeps going in that direction. I will be going to retreat and those enablers will be along with me, lol.

  2. The quilts for the Habitat family are beautiful! What a wonderful new home gift. The swap blocks look great and so does the BOM. It's hard to resist those quilt alongs.

    1. Kate, we heard that they really liked them. In the excitement of the day's activities, we could not really tell. Now we have 23 years before the next house.

    1. Thanks, always trying to make it my own. Found out the family LOVED the quilts, especially the daughter. Grandma, who was supposed to move in with them and had a very close relationship with her granddaughter, favorite color was purple!
