Yes, it stayed the same. Not that there wasn't alot of sewing going on, there was. Just not reportable!

This started it. My Guild challenge, I had to go to stash to compliment the FQ's I was given.
I also made a Baby quilt top last spring.
Made this, but it needs borders and I will have to "add" to be able to list this.

Cut this...need to get background and borders. Won't work on this until after the first of the year. I had picked up the book on a Shop Hop. Got it home and realized that having the 30 degree ruler would be more than beneficial...so after searching for a bit with no luck, went straight to the source. Ordered it from Darlene Zimmerman (here) and it arrived the next day. How is that for service. Granted we live in the same state but that is usually when it takes the longest. She is just the sweetest and I have adored her for years. In fact, I blame my 30's/feedsack obsession on her. This was one of those rulers that really needed the little "dots" of sandpaper on the back.
Made these from 2 inch squares, put away for a future project.
Cut these 2 inch blocks for good luck.
Put this together as the start of a basket for our silent auction next month. Notice there are no reds in there, hee, hee, I hid them for another project along with a few FQ's for some little pouches.
This bin was stuffed lid would not snap) when I started and now.....It is sorted and I have solid plans for it all of it. Some of that fabrics has been in keeping for at least 12 years. I wanted to stand up and say "My name is Deb and I have a problem" every time I looked at it. That is the first step you know, admitting it! lol It is time to move on.
A few from the County Fair. Not very many entered this year, I wonder if they were all as busy as I was with our shortened summer.

And this is what has kept us busy this morning. We picked up another Cairn from a local shelter. So far, so good. Chloe is on the left. She is a 7 year old Red Wheaten. Lucy does seem disinterested, does she not?
Lucy has been with us for 5 years and was also a rescue. We thought she need a pal!
As Always,

Deb

Let's see....County Fair Week...very little sewing went on here. Lots of beautiful weather, great crowds and food! I did not enter anything this year, the timing was not right and was not about to stress myself out. See, I'm learning.

Made this runner for a swap. I knew my swap partner had a black/burgandy kitchen so I figured it must be a little bit modern. Again, way outside my zone! And what color burgandy? So I pulled all that I could find in my stash and mixed them up. Her hubby even liked it!

I also got mine this week. Love it.

Working on blocks I cannot show you yet for our upcoming workshop in September. 25 made and more to go! I am loving it.

Time to check out the others at Patchwork Times. I hope they got more accomplished than I did!

As Always,

Deb

Some out this week, a backing, 2 pillowcases and  2 BOM. Been in the sewing room feverishly working on a project that has to go in the mail tomorrow.

I have been committed to blogging my Stash Report and in the middle of a long seam remembered that I had not posted this morning.....good time for a break.

Dinosaurs for a young boy and a spare for the gift drawer.

August "Just Us Quilters" blocks

Brown Bag Quilt Guild Challenge completed.
I think she liked it!
I'll have to take a pic of the one I received. I had forgotten what fabric I had sent so it was a wonderful surprise!
Some of the other challenges...

Some of the Guild items going to the County Fair. I did not enter anything, just too, too busy.

Stash Report Week 31

A few things out and have resolved the picture issue.

First, found a cutter blade I really love. Ordered them from Missouri Star Quilt Company as one of their "Daily Deals" for next to nothing, I think it was under $5.00. I will be ordering them again!  Of course, they are not that price now but one has now been in use for more than a month and still is as sharp as the day I put it in.
The baby is here and he got his quilt. He was born in Minnesota and has ties to to the state going back to his Great Grandmother and earlier.....but is moving back to LA this Fall and I wanted him to have something to always remind him of what good stock he comes from. This is a combination of 2 years of the State Shop Hop fabric.

Leader/Ender project got a little bit of attention this week as I cleared off the surfaces in my room. It is now measuring 32 x 32 and has a long way to go but so easy doing it this way. This project is hard for me as I am a matchy-matchy type of gal and I am making a concerted effort not to look at what I am putting together. The only time I will change something is when they are the exact same square.
The bucket is still full and I want this to be at least 100 x 100 so it will still sit on the sewing table.
I know some people save any size but my rule is "No smaller than 2 x 2". If there are bits smaller they are thrown into a bag for dog bed filler.

I am also finishing up my Guild "Brown Bag Challenge", top is done and will be quilting it today.
The yellow/green dot, the pink, the purple stripe(pinwheels) and the peach flower were the fabrics in the bag. I used the pattern "My Mother's Garden" by Dodi Lee Poulsen from Quiltmaker J/A 2012. We could make anything we wanted and were told the that overachievers could not make more than a lap-sized quilt. I needed to make something that would spread the fabrics out because in my mind, they had absolutely nothing to do with each other. Hope she likes it!

...and with all that off the list it was time to get the cutting area, sewing table and machine cleaned up. So I present to you...

Now to make another mess.

Check out the progress of others at Patchwork Times!

As Always,

Deb
