And it came to a screeching halt this week. Nothing in, nothing out. I did manage to learn how to get pics off my phone so enjoy these from The Plum Creek Quilters Show in Red Wing, MN. It is held at Sargent's Greenhouse. For the first time, we went it the afternoon and got front row parking for my SIL's Mom. Busy but not crowded, so much easier!
Enjoy...

And Sandy from All in Stitches, busy as usual. It is my favorite shop!

There has been some sewing going on but nothing to show, but I am sure there is progress at these blogs. Check them out at Patchwork Times.

Stash Report Week 6

I have beautiful pics of the Quilt Show we attended in Red Wing, MN put on by the Plum Creek Quilters but alas, took them on my new smart phone and have not figured out how to get them transferred. Again, it is smarter than I am! I will figure out by next week.

The yardage used this week is mostly for backings that are all cut and will go to the quilter in the morning. They are just too large for me to tackle.

Grand illusion is finally done!
I am counting the yardage for the top this week along with backing.

On the way to the quilter, Challenge quilt
DH's Train quilt
All in the car and ready to go....
In other deeds done,
Farmer's Wife Pony Club Blocks for Swap
 Ready to mail March 1st
...and the blocks we had to make on our own,

Two Valentine pillowcases also made this week and now I need to go clean up the studio...

Make sure you stop by Patchwork Times to see some amazing things!

IT IS DONE

Not even enough room to lay it out flat and it does lay flat!

A completed top, backing finished and batting cut, ready to go to the long-armer this weekend. Got sidetracked in January with other projects having priority. I was originally going with the gold for an inner border but I happened to make twice as many 4 patches as I needed which of course left me one strip short for it. I was even digging in the trash to see if I had accidentally thrown any of it away. lol It is an "older" Thimbleberries fabric and after thinking about doing a search for it, changed my mind. That meant I was going to buy something and I had vowed not to do it! Went digging and found this black. Now I think that was a great choice although I worried about it the whole time I was putting it on. I added a border as the mattress on the bed is extra deep and needs it.

 Up close and personal.....

Original inspiration, I think I captured it.

Check out all the other awesome quilts at Quiltville's Quips and Snips. So impressive.....

Survived the Retreat....love going and love being there but it is always nice to come home to your own bed, the peace and quiet and regular food. This group always has a great time, lots of laughter, shopping, awesome snacks/food and NO snowstorm this year!
The Challenge Fabric from last year and the results, although I did not get a pic of all of them. The winner was a hat and it was sew cute.

A tote.
 A pillow.
 A Kindle cover.
Like Bonnie Hunter says "If it is still ugly fabric, you have not cut it small enough", all those little squares are fussy cut.
A First Timer, first retreat, first time at a Winery, first time eating duck and many other firsts....I think she had a good time and has made her reservations for next year. She that little crown on her head, it was her reward!
Show and Tell:

These next 2 are the same pattern. Look how different they are.

 A mat tote.
A pic does not do this justice. The fabrics are shimmery and the whole thing just had a "Christmas" glow about it!

She got 5 done and 1/2 of a quilt top.
Maple Island Pagoda Blocks, great way to do curves!

There will be 5 more of these blocks and then some applique, gorgeous!
 Another UFO finished!!!!
 Norman Rockwell fabrics.
Another First Timer, the daughter of the other First Timer! Such fun when you can enjoy it with each other.
A little story about this one, the right hand one is incorrect and she had made 11 of them. The one on the left is correct and she had made 4.  We tried laying them out and the design was not something she could live with. She put them away and bemoaned the fact that she would be ripping for quite some time. As all quilters do, they stepped up to the plate and 11 took them and ripped them all in 15 minutes. She had them all resewn before she left on Sunday! Yeah....we have all been there.

Completed be arrival but wanted to show it off before she gifted it to her first grandchild!

A T Shirt quilt and she was working on one for a boy.
The medallion center of a quilt.
 Think Spring!
 A MSQC Tutorial in action.

Even a Grand Illusion being worked on.
Last year's project completed and shown.

This one is an Advent Calendar. There will be little tabs to place the ornaments on for her grandchildren.
Part of a Duffle Bag with really bad directions. She got this far and will be taking it home to finish.
In the meantime, working on very small blocks.
And as for me....
My February FW Pony Club Swap blocks complete.
Aurifil Challenge, my way. Will be doing the Designer Little Quilt of the month in this colorway for the guest room and hanging them all together for impact.
My Challenge Fabric quilt, "Time is Relative" which I forgot at home and is now being quilted.

A MSQC Layer Cake quilt with Trains for Hubby. "All Aboard" It is at the quilter.

A little shopping.
For borders and binding. Already cut up and in use. Can't show you yet, secret project. Shhhh.
A kit at half price.
Just because. All in Stitches puts together 5 yard packs and I buy one every time I go in. It is a great stash builder and I let them do the coordinating of fabric. I try to pick something I would not normally gravitate to. I don't always use them together but this one I will! Love it.

Don't forget to check out the other Stash Busters at Patchwork Times!

As Always,
